A ground-level photo shows the front of the house. A drone photo shows why someone would want to live there: the size of the lot, the mountains on the horizon, the open space behind the fence and how close the park really is.

Buyers judge the home online first

The National Association of Realtors surveys recent buyers every year. In its 2025 report:

81% of buyers

rated listing photos "very useful" when searching online, more than any other website feature. 46% said their very first step was looking online at homes for sale (NAR 2025 Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers).

If photos are the first showing, aerial photos are the part of that showing that answers the big questions before a buyer ever gets in the car.

What drone photos show that ground photos can't

The lot and the boundaries

Acreage, a big backyard, RV parking or a corner lot is hard to understand from the street. From above, buyers see it instantly.

The views

In Colorado, the view is often the selling point. A drone at the right height shows the Flatirons, Longs Peak or the open space that ground photos can only hint at.

The neighborhood

Aerial photos show the nearby trails, lakes, schools and parks, and how the home sits in the neighborhood. That context matters most to out-of-state buyers who can't drive by.

The roof and the condition

A clean, overhead view of a newer roof, solar panels or a fresh driveway quietly answers questions buyers would otherwise ask.

Hire a licensed drone pilot

Flying a drone to market a listing is a commercial operation. Under the FAA's Part 107 rules, the pilot needs a Remote Pilot Certificate, a registered drone, permission to fly in controlled airspace near airports, and must follow limits such as staying under 400 feet and not flying over people who aren't part of the shoot.

That's more than paperwork. Much of the Front Range sits near airports and controlled airspace, so knowing where and when you can fly is part of the job. We handle the airspace authorization for you.

Drone photos are free with every package

Every Media Home Tours package includes free drone photos when the airspace allows. Packages start at $129, and photos arrive in 24 hours or less.
