Almost every home buyer starts online, and the listing photos are the first showing. If they don't get someone to click, the home never makes it onto the tour list.

What Redfin found

Redfin compared listings shot with professional DSLR cameras against listings shot with point-and-shoot cameras and phones. For homes listed between $200,000 and $1 million, professionally photographed homes sold for more relative to their list price:

$3,400 to $11,200 more

Sale price relative to list price for professionally photographed homes listed between $200,000 and $1 million (Redfin study).

Redfin also found that homes around $400,000 with professional photos sold about three weeks faster than similar homes with amateur photos.

Why the photos matter so much

They get the click

Buyers scroll through dozens of listings at a time. Bright, sharp, well-composed photos stand out in the search results and earn the click that leads to a showing.

They make the home feel bigger and brighter

Wide-angle HDR photography shows the full room with balanced light, so spaces look the way they feel in person, not dark and cramped like a phone photo.

They show what buyers care about

Drone photos show the lot and the neighborhood. Floor plans answer layout questions. Video and 3D tours let out-of-town buyers walk through the home before they visit.

They reflect on you

Sellers notice when their home looks great online. Strong listing photos help you win the next listing, too.

What it costs

Our Ruby package is $209 for 25 HDR photos with free drone, and packages start at $129. On a $500,000 home, even the low end of Redfin's range is many times the cost of the shoot.
